Az-Zahra Centre COVID-19 guidelines

In order for the Exeter Ahlul-Bayt Community to stay safe during the upcoming Muharram programme, the following guidelines will be in place at Az-Zahra Centre through out the event.

Symptoms

If you have any symptoms of COVID-19, it is your moral and religious duty to NOT attend the centre to avoid exposing others to the virus. The main symptoms of COVID -19 are:

  • A high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)

  • A new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)

  • A loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you've noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal

Temperatures will be checked upon entry into Az-Zahra Centre by volunteers. Anyone that has a high temperature will be kindly asked to return home so that other are not exposed to COIVD-19. Individuals with a high temperature will be advised on what to do.

Masks

Indoors: Mandatory for Adults and Over 12s

Outdoors: Everyone is encouraged to continue wearing a mask in all settings

Please ensure that you bring your own masks. No mask will mean no entry.

Prayer Mats & Mohrs/Turbahs

Can use Az-Zahra Centre’s Mohrs/Prayer Mats

Social Distancing

Indoors: 1m distance at all times (including during salah)

Outdoors: Encourage everyone to maintain 1m

Contact Tracing Registration

There will be QR codes that you can scan into the NHS COVID-19 app. This is free to download from the Apple store/ Google play store. You must “check in” to the location by scanning the QR code before you are allowed into Az-Zahra Centre.

Lateral Flow Testing

We recommend taking an LFT before attending programmes, however these are not mandatory. These are available online to order, or alternatively at your local pharmacy, free of charge.

Food

Food will not be served at Az-Zahra centre during the Muharram programmes. If anyone wishes to make a Nadhr and cook food for the programmes this would be welcomed. In this case, please supply the food in individual recyclable containers (microwave safe) and these will be distributed to everyone after the programme.
